I have been waiting for Harris Teeter to Super Double for awhile now, so I was very excited to see that they are having this sale this week. If you don’t know what Super Double means it means that a coupon will be doubled up to $1.98. Example a $1.50 coupon would become $3.00. The coupon will not exceed the cost of the item. Example if an item is on sale for $1.89 and you have a coupon for $1.00 you will get the $1.00 coupon plus the register will adjust down to $.89 so you would get the item for free.

I have not been grocery shopping since November. With that being said I knew that I would have a large bill. I want to share with my readers my savings so that hopefully I can help you in your journey to save & to held accountable. I purchased all items in RED (2 of each), 2 packs of chicken (got 4 FREE), B1G1 Free Whole Boneless Pork Tenderloin, B1G1 Free London Broil, and B1G1 Free Stew Beef, B1G1 Free Strawberries (4 packs total), and Thomas English Muffins.

My husband& I have set up a budget for 2010 and our goal is to purchase what we have allocated for groceries using coupons and rebates to make the total cost less. We will then take the amount saved (from the budgeted amount) and put in a savings account. We will not take the savings and spend it on something else like we have done in the past.
